Kho-Kho: A Step Towards "Make in India Games"

On this auspicious day of National Sports Day .I think it is the right time to raise Indian Games like KhoKho . Just as India has embraced the vision of Make in India to strengthen self-reliance in technology and trade, it is time to extend this philosophy to our traditional sports. With global challenges such as tariffs on Indian products during Trump’s era reminding us of the importance of self-sufficiency, India must now focus on nurturing its own games—our own heritage of strength, agility, and strategy.

Kho-Kho, one of the oldest and most dynamic Indian games, deserves to be promoted on the same scale as cricket, football, or any international sport. By modernizing infrastructure, Promoting professional leagues as already KKFI is working hard as they conducted 2 seasons of Ultimate KhoKho League, and using technology-driven broadcasting, Kho-Kho can not only capture the imagination of our youth but also build India’s presence in the global sporting arena.

Just like Make in India made the world look at India’s manufacturing power, Make in India Games can make the world admire our sporting spirit. Kho-Kho can be the flagbearer of this movement—showing that India is not just self-reliant in products and technology but also in games and cultural identity.
