Kho-Kho is not only a game but a passion, morality, sacrifice and hope of a player who never wants anything in return that reflects true love towards the game. Kho-Kho, the ancestral game of India which demands low budget played by almost every Indian in its school time is in a flying mood to cover miles across the globe in less time. It is spreading across the world as various countries are approaching KKFI, IKKF and AKKF to follow this game in a fast mode.

Asani Kanti is a treasurer of Kenyan Kho-Kho Federation who is working very hard to nurture the talent of Kenyan athletes towards Kho-Kho.

Moreover, Kho-Kho is thriving across the planet with the declaration of Ultimate Kho Kho league during Burman lead Dabur and KKFI agreement and acceptance of Kho-Kho in the next Asian Games and lots of International tournaments and International Coaching Camps by KKFI experts.

Ms.Kanika Soni Columnist caught up with Treasurer of Kenyan Kho-Kho Federation in a sole conversation as he cast off glare on Kho-Kho in Kenya.

Q1.What are your views about Kho-Kho?

Ans. Yes, Kho-Kho is a popular game invented in India. It is played by many countries but to us, we want to make it better in the world and be recognized by another country that we can perfect it like it’s our own game and that is what passion we have in it.

Q2. How players are showing interest in Kho-Kho?

Ans We have a lot of people showing interest in the game because our background sports are athletic.

Q3.Who is the man behind Kho-Kho in Kenya?

Ans. His name is Jacob as the President of Kenya Kho-Kho Federation.

Q4. Tell me about Kho-Kho in Kenya?

Ans. Kho-Kho has taken the track here in Kenya as players are looking to join .Due to Covid-19 pandemics schools are closed here and we are looking to form new clubs and introduce in schools after opening of schools.

Q5. Name the coaches who attended the 1st International Coaching Camp under the aegis of KKFI, AKKF and IKKF?

Q6. What are your plans for Kho-Kho in coming months?

Ans. Our main plan is once our country will open for sports activity we want to do tv broadcasting and awareness and we will host a local friendly tournament then same to schools.
As then we will look for local sponsors who can host a tournament. As currently, we have formed around 3 clubs but still need around 5 to 6 clubs so we have a bit more competition.

Q7.What is your Qualification?

Ans Mechanical Engineer.

Q8.What is the practise routine of Kenyan Kho-Kho Players?

Ans. We normally practise every day in the early morning.

Q9. What is the normal duration of practice?

Ans. Usually, we are training them with 2-hour work out with 1 hour physical and 1 hour game.

Q10.What type of Diet usually Kenyan Kho-Kho player take?

Ans. Currently, we are just taking staple food.

Q11.What is your message on International Yoga Day?

Ans. Yoga is all about creating a balance in your life. It is about balancing your senses, balancing your body, soul and mind in order to live healthily and live in peace. Wishing you a peaceful and healthy life on International Yoga Day.
