Kho-Kho :The Art of Yoga

As I have interest from my childhood to experience new things, tough things usually I prefer to learn about Indian basics that always attract me whether its Kho-Kho, Yoga, Arhat Yoga and Various ancient techniques to explore. So I start to visualize both the things I do and feel that Yoga is similar to  Kho-Kho as because Yoga which is nowadays preferred more than a gym as it not focusses on the external body but more on strengthening inner body parts like lungs etc due to bodily contortions and breathing exercises.  The root of Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word Yuj, meaning ‘to join’. It refers to the union between you (the jivatma) and your Higher Soul (Atma) and later, the union between you and your Divine Spark (Paramatma). Union with the Higher Soul is known as soul-realization, while union with the Divine Spark is called God-realization.
Concentration, imagination and Freewill are three important weapons of human to attain the goal of self-realization so the thing that mostly required in this game is concentration, resistance, agility more the focus more is the concentration, Player can develop these qualities slowly with persistent practice on different skills.

Yoga is basically based on the different pose of the body called asanas which provides benefit to the inner body, the outer body as well peace of mind as Kho-Kho is itself based on different body movements based on extreme stretching which is part of a play like a pole dive, pole Turning, bending body movements, full stretch dives, sudden stops and fast sprints in microseconds  (chaser) whereas in a similar manner runner required dodging, breathing control which leads to stamina and it is a part of breathing exercises which is a base of Arhat Yoga as well. Slow the breathing is more is the prana left in a body which means life. Player of Kho-Kho has required lots of presence of mind during the game because he has to take a decision in fractions of seconds naturally activate neurons cells and develop mental toughness that provides the feeling to experience  NOW which means remain in a present moment which is the conclusion of Yoga. Kho-Kho provides resistance to Covid-19 because of strong immunity and healthier lungs due to the practice of breathing during running.

Low cost, high stamina, and breathing control make it excellent healthy game ....but as is with most of our ancient indigenous products, kho kho also has recently started getting internatiinal fame..... thoughtful and well written article, explores the real essence of game.....👍
