KhoKho: The Game Of Real Cheetahs

You can really feel that Cheetah that can go from zero to 125 kmph in three and a half treads must have a very technological body. The cheetah is so built for speed, it really can't do much else that is similar to what player of Kho-Kho is somehow similar for its speed, agility, fast checks and dives at any instant of a second.

Athletic Body

A cheetah's momentum starts with aerodynamics. Its slender body, small head, flattened rib cage and long, thin legs minimize air resistance. It typically only weighs about 125 pounds (56-58kg), so its muscles don't have that much weight to carry. Whereas you can see that
Kho-Kho player has usually slim and athletic body structure and the skills they practise like bend running to increase the reach, extreme stretching and dives on toes develops similarity of cheetah body.

Large lungs and fast pumping of blood.

Everything about a cheetah contributes to its superb running skills. A considerable, powerful heart pumps huge amounts of blood; large lungs and nostrils allow for fast and deep air intake.

You can see that Kho-Kho player harmonized its body structure similar to cheetah when he plays in the ground because of the skills, running on a regular basis with top speeds build large lungs ( excessive breathing) and also powerful and regular heart-pumping of blood during practice with time, Increase the blood flow through the heart and develops healthy heart which helps him to work him in the extreme situation of the match. Sharp Eyes and a Flexible Spine.

A cheetah's eyes are extra long so they can get a quick, wide-angle view of their surroundings even at top speed. It has an extra flexible spine that curves with each stride, acting something like a spring for the back legs.
Of course, you can see in Kho-Kho that stretching of the body creates a  strong and flexible spine which provide better results during action game.
Also, one thing you feel that when player practises running sidewise by working on the back and front eye movements parallelly and also during surprise attacks in which defender is to be unaware that attacker is over it creates eye movements so sharp just like a cheetah.

Long Strides

It's the stride, though, that makes most people gasp. The flexible spine, combined with unique leg muscles that give a cheetah's legs incredibly broad swing range, allow the animal to achieve a long stride It's more like abound at that speed, completing up to three strides per second, with only one foot on the ground at any time and several stages when feet don't touch the ground at all.

You can realize that long strides are practised by a player and also strong leg muscles are developed as skills involved working on calf muscle and thigh muscle usually that leads to wider strides and more grip when bare feet and result of high energy in a body leads to dives on toes in a timeless manner. This certain similarity somehow connects Kho-Kho player with Cheetah like speed, agility, dives, grip etc.

Kho-Kho: A Step Towards "Make in India Games" On this auspicious day of National Sports Day .I think it is the right time to raise Indian Games like KhoKho . Just as India has embraced the vision of Make in India to strengthen self-reliance in technology and trade, it is time to extend this philosophy to our traditional sports. With global challenges such as tariffs on Indian products during Trump’s era reminding us of the importance of self-sufficiency, India must now focus on nurturing its own games—our own heritage of strength, agility, and strategy. Kho-Kho, one of the oldest and most dynamic Indian games, deserves to be promoted on the same scale as cricket, football, or any international sport. By modernizing infrastructure, Promoting professional leagues as already KKFI is working hard as they conducted 2 seasons of Ultimate KhoKho League, and using technology-driven broadcasting, Kho-Kho can not only capture the imagination of our youth but also build Indi...
