Sr.Nationals KhoKho:The Real Warfare

You can feel the actual sensation by watching the tournament of this standard as Players from every corner of the country are ready to show energy-packed action. Kho Kho is a learner sport played by a team of 12 players (3 extras). The main purpose of a team is to score more points to win. Eight chasers sit in eight boxes in alternate direction and one chaser will start the turn, batch of three players of the opponent team will enter the field called the runner and as soon three get out next batch of three get an entry in the field this process will go on for next nine minutes in a similar manner, opponent team than a chase to score maximum points in order to win. There are two turns of nine minutes each. Team scoring maximum points is the winner.

As this game is dominated by Maharashtra and Railways(Men Section) in recent years but in Women section it changes from Punjab to Delhi, Maharashtra, Airport Authority from the last few years.

States like Karnataka, Kerala, MadhyaBharat, Delhi, Haryana, Telangana, Odhisa, West Bengal,Kohlapur etc. are good competitors. Reason being the more performance of players is that states are conducting regular tournaments and various clubs are working actively.


This game required skills that need lots of practice for perfection. With the  maturity of game skills improves and players can use his experience to guide the younger players.

You can feel the real euphoria in
Nationals ( 28 states and different UT`s are participating)These competitions are the real platform for players to learn new, to show their talent and to play against each other.
This game shows great rivalry among players which is the reason that players perform beyond limits to win.

Senior National Championship is mostly 4-5 days event organised by KKFI in different states once in a year.

First two days are normal for teams as matches are of average level Later on
Teams which top the pool or next to the top will fight for pre-quarters and remaining teams will go for position matches

Position Matches(Sudden Death)
Sudden Death means sudden decision matches of very short duration as it is the time when any of the runners gets out first then opponent team has to play the team which gets less time to put the first defender out becomes the winner .It's a real scramble of matches as lots of teams are doing the same job in a short manner. These matches are conducted for deciding the positions starting from 5th to last.

Pre Quarter Finalz: Top 16 Teams

You can see the real Momento and Excitement of the game as now every move decides the fate of the team for gold. Each single mistake drops the gold from the mouth of a team. Coaches and Players of the respective team are closely watching their opponents moves, skills etc. with whom their team has to clash in the upcoming tournament and designing the strategy for next battle.

You can see the Real Rivalry here as very tense atmosphere, crowd everywhere, very difficult for officials to conduct these type of matches due to so noisy atmosphere and similarly difficult for a player to focus in the match. It is a game of concentration and players with good concentration, experience and zeal can decide the gold for their team. No, doubt it is the time for a player to impose all its power into the game because every nanosecond effort or reaction can really make the gold closer.
The atmosphere is just like a battlefield as supporters, players are performing with ultimate action.
