Kho Kho is a traditional game of India which is holding its grip across the world. It is a time-saving game as it required a few minutes to complete in which each second has a role to play. This game really shows the meaning of seconds because the game of chase and run is so fast that time limit is so precious that help you to learn the real importance of time in life as well. As you can see in the last few years various countries are very keen towards Kho-Kho and these countries actively participate in international courses which are organised by KKFI, AKKF and IKKF.

African countries also very much enthusiastic about Kho-Kho as this game does require basic equipment and can be played everywhere. It is a minimal infra game based on pure strength, stamina, agility, mental sharpness etc. These benefits enticing a major nugget of the notoriety from sports enthusiasts across the globe.

This event held before COVID-19 lockdown which was by organised by Chief Coach of India S.B.S Tirthi, Sh.M.S.Tyagi (Gen.Secretary KKFI).

Mr Brij Haldania(Director IKKF), had led the recruitment of the African and European delegates for the camp. He is the man behind the development and promotion of Kho-Kho at an international platform.

 Mr Rohit Haldania, (General Sec. of Kho-Kho Federation of England) as Chief Strategy Officer for developing the strategic vision for International Kho-Kho Federation. He has also been delegated the job for the recruitment of players and coaches across Africa, Europe, Oceania, North America and South America.

With the announcement of Ultimate Kho Kho League, the acceptance in next Asian Games and inception of International Kho Kho Federation, the doors are open wider than ever for other nations to learn and excel in glamorous game of Chase and Run.


Ms.Neha Duggal Columnist caught up with Mali Player Amina from West Africa in an exclusive chat as she cast off the light on Kho-Kho.

Q.How Kho-Kho started in Mali.

Ans. As by training which was followed in India first and then we brought it back here on the basis of this training to orient it in Mali so that young players can play it and what it can consist of.As players from Mali shows a very keen interest in it and players are growing in numbers due to lots of skill-based activity and excitement of the game.

Q.How Kho-Kho is flourishing there?

Ans. For the moment we started with training to train young people. There are a lot of players from children aged 13 years up to 20 or above
we cannot specify that at the moment because we are only at the beginning. Countries that have been in training are 8 coaches and 5 or 4 players per country.

Q.What are you doing to promote Kho-Kho in Mali.


Ans: For the moment we have not organized tournaments because we will have to train the players and train them but it must also be said that with the COVID19 this has slowed down activities a bit to start training well
for the moment we will just say in training on the grounds of countries like Mali and Uganda for the other countries the COVID19 prevents a lot of activities.

Q.Who is behind Kho-Kho training from West Africa?

And: Each country already has a trainer who has followed all the same training but I could add that the initiative for this training trip comes from Madame Awa Nar Fall commonly known as Mama Africa.

Q.How many countries from Africa are associated with Kho-Kho.

Ans: There are 10 countries that are associated with the Kho-Kho games in Africa: Mali, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Sierra Leon, Kenya, Ghana and Rwanda.

Q.And Finally Why you Choose Kho-Kho?

Ans. I saw that it is a very interesting sport and a game that makes people friendly, and what I understood in this game requires communication between players of speed and intelligence.
