Indian Railways Feroz Kho-Kho Official in World Famous Sunday Kho-Kho Series

As lots of steps has been taken by government to improve indigenous of India through Khelo India and other sources but one thing I want to add that they must increase job creation for these games. As still in papers and in government policies more priority is given to other games like Cricket. This is all due to less awareness of top bureaucrats about our Indian Games. What I feel that player is same whether he plays cricket or another game .As cricket is gentle man game but no doubt Kho-Kho is a star game .I hope our Kho-Kho higher authority will take serious steps to change the cricket pattern from our country and work for the benefit of all Kho-Kho players. Feroz who started his career in 1992 from Chhattisgarh and later on Selected by Indian Railways and he is a Senior Official of Kho-Kho. He  was caught up by our columnist for this World famous Sunday Kho-Kho Series.

Feroz (Indian Railways)

Q1. When you started Kho-Kho?

Ans. As  lived in Bhilai,Chattisgarh .There were good games facility and clubs advantage were there .I ran 100m-200m also but during summer camp I went for handball but I played Kho-Kho there .It matched my energy as Its energetic game and give me more pleasure as I played it and I started playing it continously.

Q2. What difference you see in today's khokho and 10-15 years back Kho-Kho?

Ans. Difference is there previously there were more dodging, ring game means more skills but these days it reduces skill show and players play more safe so that they will give more time with less risk. Usually player show skills against weaker teams as they play more freely.

Q3. You played from Chattisgarh and How you get selected in Railways ?

Ans. First time Railway team was introduced in 2005 in Bansberia Sr.natonal Kho-Kho Championship West Bengal but players of Railway were not proper Kho-Kho players(different games). In 2006 All India Railway tournament was conducted in which already 3 players from Chattisgarh were there in the team but in 2007 there was 3 vacancies in the South East Centre Railways for players and I gave the trials and got selected in the team.

Q4. In Last junior National in Odhisa and you were the official in that Semi final match Maharashtra vs Odisha? What happen exactly during the match? As decision given by the Refree in fraction of seconds .Was it correct?

Ans. Yes I was umpire in that match Maharashtra girls need 1 point in last 30-40 seconds and in the last 30 seconds Maharashtra appeal for the player and out was given by the Refree. As Kho-Kho game is so fast and lots of things has been considered before giving the decision .The point was not clear to me but we had to go with the Refree decision.

Q5. There is some changes in rules of Kho-Kho for league and National Kho-Kho. What are your views about this?

Ans.

Yes to make Kho-Kho more attractive so that the Kho-Kho Show will be popularize in TV .It is a good step and based on the need of viewers it can be adjusted. Lots of trials are going on for the betterment of Kho-Kho.

Q6. Fifteen(15) players has been introduced in upcoming Kho-Kho tournaments .What you say about this?

Ans. Yes its very good step as now a days injury rate is so high during the tournaments so more replacement is the need and also more players get a chance to play in the team.

Q7. What are your achievements?

Ans. 1. Senior Nationals -7

        2. University -5

        3. Zonal nationals -5

8th palce in Sr.National in Bansbheria

Q8.As you saw Kho-Kho growth from last 30 years ? What are your views?

Ans.

Kho-Kho got rapid growth in last 3-4 years as lots of International tournaments are conduted and standard is improved in last few years. Thanks to KKFI president Sh.Sudhanshu Ji and Gen Sec. MS Tyagi ji for their extra ordinary work for Kho-Kho. More job opportunities are created and still more jobs needed for our players as its a Indigenous game of India and it is necessary to give more priority to these games as compared to Cricket so that more players get attracted towards Indigenous games and Still there is need to aware our bureaucrats or government officials about indigenous game of India so that our player get same advantage and feel proud and set example for other players and upcoming generations .

Q9. Any words for Voice of International Player?

Ans. Thank you for giving me a such honour as I express my views .I really appreciate your work as We players and official think only during the match or tournament but you are thinking for Kho-Kho 365 days .I am really a big fan of you and your work. Its really a good move for Kho-Kho.
