Kenya Brian in Sunday kho-Kho Series on National Sports Day

 

Kho- Kho salutes Major Dhyan Chand on National Sports Day as Sports is important part of life and it helps to maintain good health and mind which is essential part of happy life.

Kho-Kho is flourishing around the globe. On this auspicious day our columnist was caught up Brian Onyoo from Kenya. He is so noble man from Kenya and he is training Kho-Kho players. As Kenya is most active country in Africa in Kho-Kho. Players of Kenya are so athletic and best among the world. Learning Kho-Kho will help them to become competitive country in Kho-Kho in coming years.

Q1. Can you explain me about Kho-Kho?

Ans. Kho-Kho is a good sport which requires excellent tactical prowess and awareness. It demands speed, agility and power.


Q2. How you motivate players for Kho-Kho?

Ans.


1. Motivation is a key factor in Sports. I usually blend it with other games this way players easily love it especially kids. 

2. Sometimes l come with gifts and give players, this includes, sports shoes and training gear.


Q3. Who is the man behind Kenyan Kho-Kho?

Ans. The Man behind the success of Kenya Kho-Kho is Mr. Jacob Nyaundo, he is also the president of Kenya Kho-Kho federation.


Q4. How you select players for Kho-Kho?

Ans.


I usually do a fitness test first, this includes yoyo test to check on the cardiorespiratory endurance  of players and also do muscular endurance test to know how long the player to squat on the chaser block.


Q5. What you think Kho-Kho in next 5 years ?

Ans. Kho-Kho in Kenya will be the next big sport and also dominates in East and Central Africa.


Q6. What difference you see in player performance ,behavior after joining Kho-Kho?

Ans. They are disciplined and more active.


Q7. What type of competition are you performing to raise Kho-Kho?

Ans. 


We have Kho-Kho series here in Kenya where different teams meet and compete.

Q8. What are your achievements in Sports?

Ans. I was voted the best coach in Floorball in 2019. 

I have nurtured a lot of players in different sports Disciplines. Like: Football, swimming, VX, Floorball.

I also operate a sports academy Otada Sports Academy, Tsunami Floorball club.

Q9.  Do you need any support from India to know rules about Kho-Kho?

Ans. Yes, I will appreciate.

Q10.  Any words for Voice of International Player?

Ans. Continue with the spirit of Sports development in Kho-Kho and other sports, and Thanks for giving me the platform to share my thoughts.
